	Discuss the proposed project with a faculty mentor and secure his/her agreement to supervise your work.
	Complete the Application to Enroll in Variable-Credit Courses form
	Complete the Application for Independent Study and Fieldwork form
	Obtain the signature of your faculty mentor on both forms, then submit the signed forms to the department office.
