Study Abroad opportunities for
Kinesiology students include programs in the United Kingdom and
Australia. Students take classes that directly transfer to MSU as
Kinesiology, Integrative Studies or elective credit, while also
experiencing the culture, customs and practices of other countries.
Every Fall semester, students from
MSU exchange with students from York St. Johns University in the UK.
The curriculum is organized for Kinesiology majors in either the Sport
Science or Teacher Education emphasis area. Each student’s program is
individually designed with twelve (12) credits in Sport and Exercise
Science, Sport Studies and Physical Education, or a combination of
courses from the two programs.
The Summer Sports Program Down Under
is a five-week program primarily held in Sydney, Australia. Students
enroll in two classes: History of Australia, and either KIN 330 or an ISS/GEO course. The physical requirements of this program are
strenuous. This program is open to athletes and students participating
in sports (intramural and other levels). Students accepted for this
program engage in weekly training sessions with Australian coaches,
culminating in athletic competitions with local Australian teams.
