Forms Used to Enroll in KIN Courses
Variable-Credit Courses
Enrolling in variable-credit courses. The term
"variable-credit" refers to courses in which the student can choose the
number of credits in consultation with a faculty mentor. Students must
submit a completed, signed copy of the Application to Enroll in Variable-Credit Courses
to the KIN office in Room 134 IM Circle when enrolling in a
variable-credit course. For independent study and field work courses,
students must also submit the Application for Independent Study and Fieldwork.
Student responsibilities. In general, students must propose the objectives, learning
activities, and evaluation plans for a variable-credit course in writing.
This proposal must be approved by an instructor who is a member of the KIN
faculty and by the student's academic advisor. Students can view sample objectives, learning activities,
and evaluation plans included in the
KIN 493 course
materials and the
advising
materials developed for master's degree students in the coaching, sport
administration, and student-athlete development concentrations.
Restrictions. Students are advised that a limited number of variable-credit
courses may be counted toward the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. Varsity athletes also have restrictions related to enrollment in
variable-credit courses. Consult with your academic advisor for more information.
