Criteria for Rating Research

When evaluating productivity in this area, the Personnel Committee should consider: (a) the pertinence of the research project(s) to the faculty member’s line of research; (b) whether products are submitted/published in refereed versus non-refereed publications; and (c) the quality and quantity of the research products. The Personnel Committee should also consider the extent to which an individual faculty member makes significant contributions to collaborative projects.

The Personnel Committee should provide feedback to the Department Chairperson about the extent to which faculty members (especially non-tenured faculty members): (a) move projects from conception to publication within a reasonable timeline; and (b) have a line of research, namely consistent contributions to the research literature in a cohesive content area.

Criteria marked with a * represent expectations for persons seeking reappointment, tenure, and promotion.
