Develop a Graduate Assistantship
Position for a KIN Student

Many of the graduate assistantship positions that are filled by KIN students involve teaching physical activity courses in the Department of Kinesiology. These assistantships are funded by the university general fund.

However there are many ways in which alumni and friends may help to provide graduate assistantship positions. Here are a few possibilities:

bulletSeveral athletic training graduate students have assistantships that are provided by local high schools. The high school provides the funding for the assistantship, and the graduate student provides high quality needed services.
bulletSeveral students in the athletic administration and coaching concentration have assistantships through the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics where they assist with coaching MSU athletic teams.
bulletBoth faculty members and graduate students benefit from research assistantships. The donor provides the funding, the faculty member provides expertise, and the graduate student has an opportunity to learn research skills and contribute to the success of the research project.

Persons who are interested in developing such graduate assistantship positions for KIN students should contact Dr. Deborah Feltz, Chairperson of the Department of Kinesiology.
