Classification of Athletes Who Are Deaf

Participation in the World Games for the Deaf and other Comité International des Sports der Sourds (CISS) events is restricted to persons who have a hearing loss of at least 55 decibels (dB) in the better ear as measured by a 3-tone frequency average at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hertz, ISO 1964 Standard.
