Contact park and recreation departments, health clubs, YMCAs/YWCAs, and
sports facilities such as ice rinks, swimming pools, and bowling alleys to
learn about both disability-specific and inclusion-based sports programs.
Public school intramural and interscholastic sports programs should be
available to children and youth with a disability. And don't forget "word
of mouth" - ask other people with disabilities where they participate in
sport and recreation activities. |

States Olympic Committee at
http://www.usoc.org, then use the "select a sport" feature on the home
page to search for the sport of interest. Then contact the sport
national governing body to ask whether they operate programs in your
community. |

certain disability. In addition to the suggestions above, check with
rehabilitation hospitals or facilities. Also go to the following
disability sport organization (DSO) web sites. Ask whether the DSO
operates programs in your community.
